The body of semi-submersible models is located above the surface of the drains, its lower part is immersed in liquid. The unit resembles a float. There are options when the suction pipe leaves the body, but such mechanisms are not equipped with a grinder. It is a noisier device and can be retrieved and repaired or used for other purposes. There is no need to make the case from expensive materials, as it is not exposed to aggressive environment.
Surface fecal pumps are mechanisms, the body of which is located at a certain distance from the cesspool, the movement of liquid occurs through a plastic corrugated pipe or sleeve. A running motor makes a loud noise, so it is not installed near the living area. The advantage of a surface fecal pump is that it can be used for different purposes on the farm, moved from one place to another.
An important design feature is the presence of a shredder, which helps to cope with solid waste, rags that have fallen into the sump, toilet paper and fibrous inclusions. All submersible pumps are equipped with a cutting device that crushes waste up to 5 cm in diameter.
