Manufacturers almost annually release novelties of effective chemicals for removing blockages. But there are adherents of effective drugs proven over the years. One of these is the "Mole" for cleaning sewer pipes. Its action is no less effective than cleaning the collector with a plumbing cable.
Description and scope of cleaning agent "Mole"
Most often, the tool is used in such cases:
- silting of the collector with fatty build-ups;
- the formation of plugs in the siphons under the sink and bath;
- sludge stagnation in complex pipe bends.
"Krot" works equally effectively in collectors of household and commercial establishments. It is permissible to clean pipes with a preparation for sewerage in laboratories and medical institutions, hotels and beauty salons, in laundries, at public catering establishments.
Chemical composition
Cleaning agent "Mole" for sewer pipes has the following composition:
- potassium hydroxide - 5-10% of the total;
- sodium hydroxide - 40-50%;
- distilled water - up to 25%.
- Non-ionized surfactants - up to 10%.
In this case, the composition of the substance does not change depending on its physical form.
Forms of issue
On the shelves of the household departments, you can find the drug in one of three forms:
- gel;
- granular powder in small packs of 100 gr .;
- liquid solution in bottles of 450 ml or large cans of 5, 10 liters.
Gel is considered the most economical option. However, for severe blockages, it is better to use a solution or powder.
Operating principle
Since the main ingredients of the cleaning agent are acids in combination with alkalis and surfactants, the drug acts in the sewer pipes according to the principle of an active chemical reaction. Interacting with each other, all the components of the Mole provoke the generation of heat. It heats up the collagen deposits and fats in the tubes. In the molten state, the sludge moves further along the collector, and the agent continues its action. As a result, the blockage seems to decompose, it becomes more fluid. At this time, the pipe is flushed further, and the "Mole" moves up to the public drainage receiver.
Instructions for use
- Liquid product. Shake the preparation in a bottle and pour it into the hole of the sink / bathtub in the amount of 200-250 ml. The drug is left in this form for 20-25 minutes and then the pipeline is thoroughly rinsed with hot water for 5-10 minutes. Liquid temperature - 50-70 degrees.
- Dry agent. The granules are poured into the bath / sink drain in the amount of 1 sachet (100 gr.). About 0.5 liters of hot water is also poured here and left for an hour. Over time, the entire system is flushed with hot water.
- Gel. The thick product is poured into the drain in the amount of 70-100 gr. Pour 2 glasses of hot water on top and wait 40-60 minutes. Then the sewer is rinsed with hot water under strong pressure.
Do not leave the drug in the tubes for a longer time (overnight) to achieve the best effect.This threatens to melt / damage the plastic sewer pipes.
In order for the agent to "go deep" as far as possible into the collector, you can preheat the sewer pipes. To do this, before pouring / backfilling the Mole, drain a certain amount of hot water into the collector. The plastic will become warmer, the reaction of the chemical components will only intensify, and the Mole itself will be able to travel a longer path in the system.
Precautions
Since the cleaning household product contains aggressive components in its composition, you need to adhere to certain recommendations in working with it. Otherwise, there is a high risk of burns to the skin, mucous membranes or respiratory tract. Precautions:
- It is advisable to work with a solution or powder in high protective gloves. In this case, you need to wear long pants and a shirt with a sleeve to prevent contact with the skin.
- If the gel or solution touches the skin, it must be urgently rinsed with plenty of clean cool water.
- When working with "Mole" it is recommended to wear a protective gauze mask so as not to inhale microparticles of powder or vapors of the solution.
- If the product gets into your eyes, you should immediately rinse them with water and go to a doctor.
- If the Mole gets into the organs of the alimentary tract, you should call an ambulance. Before the arrival of doctors, you need to rinse the stomach with plenty of cool water.
It is forbidden to use hot water to remove the chemical from the skin and mucous membranes. This will only provoke a chemical reaction and further burns.
Keep all such chemicals as far away from children as possible - in inaccessible shaded areas.
Advantages and disadvantages of the tool
- Favorable cost. In comparison with more modern and expensive branded drugs, "Krot" seriously saves the family budget.
- Ease of use. There are only three steps - fill, pour, rinse, and the plug in the pipes is removed. No need to fiddle with a rope or plunger.
- High speed of work. The maximum period for which it is possible to defeat a blockage in a sink or bath does not exceed 90 minutes.
- Cleanliness during the process. Large amounts of silt or hair do not need to be removed from the pipes. Under the influence of "Mole" all this goes into the central collector or septic tank. There are no unpleasant odors or unnecessary garbage in the apartment / house.
- Safety for all types of pipes. With proper use, "Mole" does not have a negative effect on the collector made of cast iron, plastic, ceramics, concrete.
The disadvantages of the remedy include its relative aggressiveness and the possibility of getting a chemical burn. But with all the precautions taken, they can be avoided.
