Sewerage system - an engineering network that is responsible for the drainage of wastewater and sewage outside the house, buildings or structures. The primary task of property owners is to periodically maintain the sewer network. This is the only way to achieve long-term operation of the sewer system, its uninterrupted and efficient operation.
Service objectives
The efficient operation of the sewage system is based on the cleanliness of the pipes that make up the utility network. Therefore, they must be cleaned periodically. And this is the main purpose of the service. Many do not understand the importance of the processes being carried out, therefore, after a short period of operation, the sewage system stops working. Mud plugs form on one of the pipe sections, which do not allow the used water to pass through. It is not easy to break through them, especially on your own. Therefore, you have to call a plumber, for whose work you will have to pay.
To prevent this from happening, you need to take some not very difficult steps:
- Before washing dirty dishes, you must clean them of food and oil residues.
- Every day, pour two to three liters of boiling water into the sink of the kitchen sink, after pouring a tablespoon of coarse salt or a teaspoon of baking soda into the drain hole.
- Pour a household chemical cleaning agent into the sink drain once a week.
- Remove the siphon and clean it once every six months.
- It is better to install a rare grate in the drain of the bathtub, which will not let the hair through. Do the same with the sink.
Neglect of the maintenance of the sewerage system inside the house or apartment gradually turns into its repair. We have to call the plumber and break through the mud plugs. Usually, for this, the master uses a plumbing cable.
The sewerage system of a private house consists of two sections: indoor and outdoor. The second circuit is pipes, usually made of PVC, laid at a certain depth at an inclination of 2-3 °. Plus, a tank where drains and sewage are discharged. The minimum pipe diameter to be used is 100 mm. This is enough for the effective passage of sewer pollution from a small house, but here, too, problems associated with traffic jams can arise. Therefore, it is important to carry out maintenance and repair of the sewage system in a timely manner.
Autonomous sewerage service
The main task is to prevent force majeure situations from occurring in the communication network: breakouts, leaks, etc. It is recommended once every 2-3 years, depending on the intensity of use, to call special services that will carry out maintenance.
The foremen will first of all carry out an inspection (diagnostics). To do this, they have special equipment in their arsenal that works on the basis of television technology. A cable with a small camera at the end is run inside the sewer. The signal is sent to the monitor, where you can clearly see the state of the sewer system.
Having identified problem areas, as well as the degree of pollution, the craftsmen proceed to cleaning the pipe structure. To do this, they can take advantage of different ways.
- Mechanical. Use a plumbing cable that is thicker than for cleaning the internal sewage system. On its free end, tips are placed in the form of a spiral, brush or spatula, depending on which mud plug needs to be pierced. The disadvantage of this method is that the cable can break through the congestion, but they cannot clean the walls of the sewer pipes.
- Hydrodynamic. A hose with a nozzle at the end is used. It is supplied with water under high pressure. The liquid not only breaks through mud congestion, but also cleans the inner surfaces of the pipes. This technology has many advantages: high quality, the time required to break through the plugs is minimal, no chemicals - only pure water, it can remove both dirt and solid objects.
- Chemical. The method is based on foamed water to which chemicals are added. The first softens the dirt, the second corrodes. The prepared mixture is poured into the sewage system using hoses. The efficiency is high, but such a service is expensive.
In an autonomous sewage system, it is rarely necessary to use hydrodynamic and chemical methods. Usually it is possible to clean the pipes with a cable.
Features of storm sewer maintenance
A stormwater drain is a sewer network, the function of which is to drain rain and melt water from the roofs of buildings and structures, as well as from the territory of the site. It is also a gravity system, the main element of which is piping.
Problems with storm sewers are rare, because its main function is to drain water. But over the years, sand and soil particles accumulate in the pipes, which get there along with rains and melted snow.
There are two types of rainstorms:
- Open type - ditches dug in the ground, or concrete, plastic or metal trays. They are covered with gravel or crushed stone or covered with gratings. Maintenance of such a system boils down to periodically cleaning the trays from debris and sand.
- Closed type - a pipe structure buried in the ground. It is not visible, so maintenance is not easy.
A specialist is called in to clean the rainwater pipe system. Cleaning is carried out hydraulically, that is, with water under high pressure. Manufacturers of household appliances offer equipment of small dimensions, with the help of which you can independently service the stormwater. The pump is connected to a water supply or an open reservoir, and on the other side there is a long hose. The latter is inserted into the sewer, the pump is turned on and the hose is pushed into the system.
The whole process is carried out through inspection wells, which are installed on pipelines, their connections, at bends and every 50 m of linear sections. Since the storm network of a closed type is laid shallowly into the ground, the height of the inspection wells does not exceed half a meter. Therefore, a hose with a length of no more than 6 m is supplied to the pump.
To avoid frequent maintenance of the storm drain, it is recommended to correctly carry out its installation, using all the protective elements: gratings installed in the structure of the water intake funnels, sand traps and sedimentation tanks. It is important to periodically clean these parts of debris and sand.
Instructions for the maintenance and repair of sewerage and water supply include simple operations. The main task is to prevent a decrease in the efficiency of these systems. It is recommended that all work be carried out by specialists who have all the necessary equipment in their arsenal.
