The dacha is both a place of rest for people from the bustle of the city, and an area where they are engaged in gardening or gardening. But not always on such a site there is a large house with all the amenities.
The dacha is wonderful. Someone is happy to plant flowers, someone thriftly grows vegetables and fruits, but for someone it is a great opportunity to take a break from the bustle of the city, to breathe in the fresh air. You can go to the forest or swim in the river. And in the evening, treat yourself to a delicious barbecue. But nature is nature, and you should not forget about comfort. Not everyone is ready to run into the bushes if necessary or take a refreshing dip in the nearest river. And it doesn't matter if there is no sewage system. You can do everything you need yourself, or with assistants.
It is necessary to think about the availability of premises that are so necessary in the household when designing and building a summer cottage. Well, if the dacha is already standing or was purchased by you, then before the start of the garden season you need to attend to its presence.
If we talk about the construction of a country toilet, then it is necessary to decide from what material it will be built and, in fact, what kind of structure it will have. If you calculate everything correctly and correctly draw up a work plan, you can significantly save on building materials.
Types of outdoor toilets
Consider what types of outdoor toilets exist:
- The dressing house assumes the presence of a cesspool.
- Powder - closet - this is the same house, but without a cesspool.
- The dry closet is the simplest and least hassle-free construction.
Now let's look at their design and differences.
Toilet house with a cesspool
From the name itself, it is clear that there is a cesspool in this design. It is reinforced with concrete rings, laid out with bricks, or a plastic container is placed in the pit. It should be borne in mind that from an ordinary cesspool, the liquid gradually goes into the soil by itself, and the sealed container will fill up much faster. To clean it, you will have to remove sewage more often, using a pump yourself, or call a sewer machine. A house is being erected directly above the pit. It can be built from scrap materials. A pedestal with a toilet seat is installed in the house. A ventilation pipe is installed to avoid unpleasant odors.
Powder closet
This is a house, but without a cesspool. A house is also being built, but the cesspool is not dug out, but instead of it, a container for waste is placed directly under the toilet seat. But in order not to clean the container too often, they make it double. Several holes are made in a container smaller in volume. Then it is placed in a larger container. In the larger container, in turn, a hole is made and a drainage hose is inserted. Thus, excess liquid enters the soil. Near the toilet seat there should be a container with sawdust, dry mud or peat - any filler. It (the filler), of course, will restrain the unpleasant odor, but it is also recommended to install a ventilation pipe in toilets of this design. After each use of the toilet, the waste is sprinkled with sawdust or other filler. As soon as the container is full, it is taken out and cleaned.
When designing a toilet of this design, one must remember that it is possible to get a storage tank. There are two options for how to do this. The first is to raise the seat and remove the drive directly from under the toilet seat. And the second - in the toilet scheme, a door is designed through which the container is removed.
Dry closet
For those who do not like to deal with all these containers and their cleaning, and do not want to dig a hole, and then build a house over it, there is a great alternative - a dry closet. All you need to do is choose the right model, deliver and install it in the place you need. If desired, you can install it immediately with a booth.
And now a little more about the construction itself.
When you decide on the type of toilet, it's time to draw up the construction scheme itself. It includes many parameters: the size of the toilet, the width and depth of the pit (if the toilet is with a cesspool), etc.
Construction of a toilet with a cesspool
Immediately, we note that the house should be built after the hole is dug and strengthened. So, the first is a foundation pit for the house itself of a square shape with a size of 4x4 m and a depth of about 30 cm. It is covered with 20 cm of gravel and thoroughly rammed. Then the formwork for the foundation is knocked down from the wooden boards. Its width is 30 cm, and its height is 50 cm. To make the foundation more durable, crushed stone is used. It is poured with a mixture of cement and sand. Possible defects are neatly covered up by removing the boards. Sand is used for the base of the floor, which is carefully tamped. You can lay foam on the sand to insulate the room. Then again the crushed stone is poured with a solution.
Along the perimeter of the foundation (on roofing material), a timber is laid and fixed using metal pins with a diameter of 1 cm.After that, a frame for the walls is erected (using a level) and a roof sheathing is made from the edged board. The sheathing itself must be brought out beyond the gables by at least 30 cm. The roof is sheathed with an edged board. The frontal boards are fixed at the ends. To give the structure strength, metal corners are used. Then the roof is laid. The roofing material can be any - slate, shingles, sheet metal, etc.
Further, the house is sheathed from the outside with an edged board. Doors are made of the same material. Next, a window is inserted, and the platbands are mounted. All wooden elements must be treated with moisture-wicking agents.
Inside, using a construction stapler, the walls and ceiling are insulated with polyethylene. Drywall is attached to the crate. Stretch electrical wires for lighting. Further, plaster, anti-moisture treatment and decorative finishes. Steps are made outside.
So such an irreplaceable object as a toilet appeared at your dacha. If desired, a shower can be built with it under the same roof. And then staying in the country will become a real pleasure for you.
