This is because manufacturers have learned to imitate premium entry doors. However, the characteristics of such products are the same as those of economy class models. Therefore, if you want to buy a metal door, you need to focus not on the solid appearance and the number of locking points, but on other important parameters.
Blade thickness

The increased thickness of the canvas means that more insulation material can be placed inside it, which also absorbs sound waves. Also in this case, the width of the stiffeners increases, helping to ensure the rigidity of the structure. It is not recommended to buy doors with a minimum leaf thickness of 40-60 mm.
Metal thickness
Even a blade with a thickness of 90-105 mm may not be strong enough if it is made of thin steel sheets. In this case, the probability of deformations is high. In addition, the door, made of thin metal, is easy to break. To ensure dimensional stability and safety, it is recommended to choose models that are made from steel sheets with a thickness of 1.5-2 mm. The allowed minimum is 1.2 mm.
Number of tightness circuits
Doors with one seal are rarely found on sale. If you happen to come across such a model, you do not need to pay attention to it. It is recommended to choose from steel doors with two or three tightness contours. They reliably protect against blowing out and reduce heat leakage. The best option is models with an additional third seal that has a magnetic stripe. Such doors receive insurance in case the two main circuits are worn out. The magnetic strip attracts the elastic seal to the metal surface and does not provide a tight adhesion of the web to the box.
Decorative overlays
There are internal and external linings with a thickness of 8 to 16 mm. For installation in an apartment building, a model with one internal pad is perfect. If the entrance is cold, it is better to add an outdoor decorative panel.
Box and stiffeners
Little attention is paid to these structural elements, and the safety and energy efficiency of the door depend on them. To reduce heat leakage around the perimeter of the opening, it is recommended to give preference to models with an insulated solid-bent box. The selected door must have at least four vertical and horizontal stiffeners. Some models can have twice as many of them, due to which they have a high class of burglary resistance and almost never warp during operation.
