The Baksi gas boiler is produced in Italy and is distinguished by the build quality. The devices are supplied to the CIS countries and Russia, they are compatible with domestic wiring. The range includes floor-standing and wall-mounted appliances. In conditions of low temperatures, surges in water pressure and mains voltage, they can malfunction.

Italian brand BAXI S.p.A. has been manufacturing heating and hot water systems for over 50 years. The manufacturer's lineup is represented by wall-mounted (standard and condensing), floor-standing models with cast-iron heat exchangers and storage-type electric boilers.
The company was founded by the Westen family in Austria, but initially it was engaged in the production of tableware. From 1978 to 1984, the brand was part of the Zanussi concern and produced steel boilers, water heaters, radiators and baths. The export of products to the countries of the world began in the mid-1980s under the Ocean Idroclima brand.
The manufacturer received its modern name in 1999. Currently it is part of two holdings - Baxi Group and BDR Thermea. The international quality certificate ISO 9001 was obtained in 1993, and the environmental friendliness ISO 14001 - in 2001.
The Russian representative office in Moscow was opened in February 2002. The branch is engaged in advertising, marketing, certification of new equipment, consulting and technical support.
Boiler series Baxi
The manufacturer produces about 500 thousand units of boilers per year. The most popular series are:
- LUNA are durable and versatile devices that provide heating and hot water supply. Equipped with LCD display, electronic board, self-diagnosis system. The advanced Comfort line has a remote panel type, which is used as a room temperature sensor and microclimate control.
- ECO Four, which includes single-circuit and double-circuit boilers. An open or closed combustion chamber has a capacity of up to 24 kW. The compact (73x40x29.9 cm) device has a wide LCD display. The fourth generation Ekofor-24 is equipped with a hydraulic system, temperature controllers for heating and underfloor heating, and self-diagnostic systems. In heating and d.h.w. mode, the flame modulation is continuous. It persists even when the pressure drops to 5 mbar.
- MAIN Four, continuing the Digit series. Suitable for installation in small rooms. Equipped with a digital control panel, bithermal heat exchanger, auto-bypass, pressure gauge, inlet filter for cold water. Main combustion chambers are either open or closed.
All series of Baxi boilers are compatible with sediments, automation devices and thermostats for home heating or underfloor heating.

Floor standing boilers
Suitable for heating a house with an area of 200 square meters or more, they are mounted in a special room. The products are distinguished by their durability, high power and productivity indicators. They are classified into three types:
- With atmospheric burners. The floor-standing appliance works on the principle of premixing gas with air and supplying it to the combustion chamber. The range includes functional double-circuit models with cast-iron heat exchangers and weather-dependent automation (SLIM 1.620 iN). For buyers with a limited budget, devices that are compatible with natural and artificial ventilation, automation with a thermocouple (SLIM EF 1.39) are suitable.
- Condensing. The principle of operation is to transfer water vapor during combustion into a liquid state. This reduces energy consumption and ensures heating efficiency. For a comfortable stay in the house, you can choose a single-circuit boiler with electronic modulation of fire, self-diagnosis, temperature control (POWER 1.1500).
- Solid fuel. You can put firewood, coal, peat into the boiler, which is suitable for areas without gas communications. The device is distinguished by maximum heat transfer, the presence of a wide firebox, and a temperature control valve. There are models with cast iron burners (BPI-ECO 1.250).

Wall models
The wall-mounted type of boilers is suitable for buildings with an area of 200 m2, characterized by compactness and high efficiency. Low-power devices up to 31 kW are equipped with a copper heat exchanger and a closed combustion chamber. Available in two versions:
- With atmospheric burners. Single-circuit or double-circuit equipment has a circulating load, which provides a high pressure and a stable temperature of water heating. A reliable, economical and functional solution will be the ECO-4s 24F and ECO Home 24F models.
- Condensing type. The attachment is characterized by a built-in control system, modulating pumps, and can be adapted to the fuel quality. LUNA Duo-tec + 40 is compatible with various accessories, while LUNA Platinum + 1.32 is suitable for cascading.
Wall-mounted versions have energy efficiency class A +.
Features of choice
- The goals of the operation. Single-circuit devices work only for heating. A double-circuit unit is suitable for heating the room and water.
- Installation type. Wall-mounted ones are even installed in kitchen cabinets of an apartment, and floor-standing ones are connected to the powerful system of a private house.
- Chimney technology. A boiler with an open combustion chamber will burn well only if there is draft from a long flue. Models with a closed (turbine) chamber, in which there is a draft blower, remove the combustion products through a coaxial type chimney.
- Dependence on electricity. Non-volatile work without being tied to electricity. Volatile starting is performed from the mains or a backup power source.
- Availability of additional options.The manufacturer equips the boilers with an on timer, a thermostat (maintains a preset temperature mode), and an outdoor weather sensor.
- Diagnostic system. Most devices have it built-in. The boiler can be turned on at full power (30-80 degrees) or underfloor heating (30-45 degrees).
- Power. For a private house and apartment, units for 24-31 kW are suitable. In industrial premises and workshops, models up to 650 kW are justified.

Possible errors and their elimination
The manufacturer's instructions will tell you how to properly start the equipment. It will function properly only if there is protection against voltage fluctuations, the ground line. Special mechanical filters are also required because remove solids from water. In case of violation of installation technologies and breakdowns on the line, boilers can give errors.
Using the self-diagnosis system
All Baxi devices have a self-diagnostic function. Fault data is displayed, the user decrypts the error code according to the instructions and takes action. The following may appear on the monitor:
- Index E and numbers 01 - no ignition. The sensor connection and gas supply are checked. Press R and hold for 2-3 seconds.
- E02 - the thermostat has worked.
- E03 - normal thrust has disappeared.
- E05 - the temperature sensor is broken.
- E10 - pressure drop, loss of board contacts, breakdown of a relay or pump sensor. The malfunction is diagnosed and eliminated only by a specialist.
- Errors E96, 97 and 98 - breakdown of the electronic board. It is necessary to make its replacement.
Locking information may also appear on the display. It occurs when overheating or loss of traction. The user will need to reboot the boiler.
Other breakdowns
In addition to errors, there are hardware failures:
- The burner does not operate at maximum power. The pressure is set incorrectly or the gas valve modulator is broken. To fix the problem, the owner must adjust the settings as instructed.
- The device turns on but turns off immediately. The reason is the low pressure of the gas pipeline. An adjustment must be made to 5 mbar.
- The coolant practically does not heat up. The failure can be eliminated by testing the gas valve pressure.
- Pops at the moment of ignition. There is not enough pressure, the distance from the igniter to the gas inlet has changed. To eliminate breakage, the gap is adjusted to 4-5 mm.
- Modulation does not work. The valve is being replaced.
- Failure of readings of temperature sensors. New elements are being installed.
Parts replacement work involving disassembly of the boiler should only be carried out by specialists.
