Combined heating furnaces operate on several types of energy sources. The most advanced models use up to 4 types. Due to their complete autonomy, combined heating furnaces are also called universal.
Pros and cons of combined heating boilers
Advantages of combined boilers for home heating:
- Any type of energy source will do;
- You can change fuel in a matter of minutes;
- You can mount a boiler;
- Compact;
- High efficiency;
- The boilers work in automatic mode, the owner does not need to monitor the process;
- It is possible to connect underfloor heating and batteries at the same time.
Cons of combined boilers for home heating:
- The boiler is quite expensive;
- It is necessary to equip a storage facility for solid and liquid fuels;
- Their power is not more than 35 kW.
The principle of operation of combined boilers
All combined heating boilers are divided into two types: double-circuit and single-circuit. The latter can only supply water to the heating system. The former also provide hot water for domestic needs.
All gas-electricity combined boilers are installed on the floor, as they are very heavy. When installing a combined heating boiler, gas, electricity, automatic control is required. It makes the equipment operate safely and efficiently.
Boilers can be with one firebox or two. The second option is more convenient, where you do not need to manually change the burners (for example, diesel to gas).
Boilers firewood electricity
Combined wood-electricity heating boilers are produced with a single firebox in which firewood is put. A container for heating water is located above the firebox. Very important in the design and the chimney, passed through the water tank. Some models of combined boilers for heating wood electricity are equipped with a heat chamber, which increases the efficiency of the boiler. It is located above the water tank, and the chimney is diverted from it. Electric heaters are mounted in the tank.
Boilers gas firewood
They can be with one or two fireboxes located one above the other. The chimney is mounted above the upper furnace chamber, and the gas burner in the lower one. Due to this design of combined heating boilers, gas and firewood are heated simultaneously both combustion chambers. However, its disadvantage is that ash from burnt firewood falls into the lower chamber, from where it must be removed. Many models are equipped with an ash collection pan. The pallet can be pulled out and if the combi boiler for heating gas firewood runs only on gas, it is not used.
