A painted profiled sheet is more expensive than a galvanized sheet without a polymer coating, but with the application of a layer, the material receives additional protection from harmful effects. The colors of the corrugated board vary in a huge range, therefore, the possibility of designing a courtyard ensemble is expanding. With the use of various textures and embossing, the visual perception of the facade, fence and roof decoration is improved.

The colors of the corrugated board and their marking

A simple zinc coating will protect the material from corrosion for 20 years, aluzinc coating will extend the service life up to 25 years. The polymer coated material will last the longest - 45-50 years. Various types of films have been developed on the surface of the corrugated board, which are of different composition and characteristics.

At the end of the marking designation of the profiled sheet, they put an alphabetic combination indicating the type of polymers:

• EOCP - zinc electrolyte coating;
• AC - zinc-aluminum film;
• PE - polyester layer;
• AK - acrylic protection;
• PVC - plastisol, polyvinyl chloride;
• PVDF - Polyvinyl Dentofluoride;
• PUR - polyurethane.

There is a material in production, a gray profiled sheet with a one-sided coating, as well as stripes in which protection or varnishing is applied from both sides. This is also reflected in the markings: A - layer from the face, B - in two sides.

Polyester film is the most popular coating and is used by almost all material manufacturers. The versatility lies in the fact that the coating assumes a varied combination of standard colors of the profiled sheet from the RAL catalog. The film thickness is 25 - 35 microns, it is elastic, bends, durable, the color lasts 20 - 25 years.

• 5002 ultramarine, 5021 water blue, 5005 signal blue, 5024 pastel blue;
• 3003 ruby ​​red, 3011 brown red, 3009 oxide red;
• 6005 moss green, 6002 leaf green, 6020 chrome green, 6019 white green;
• 9003 signal white, 9002 gray white, 9006 white aluminum, 9016 traffic white;
• 7000 squirrel gray, 7024 graphite gray, 7004 signal gray;
• 8019 gray brown, 8017 chocolate brown.

Plastisol (polyvinyl chloride) - the film is applied in a dense layer 200 microns thick, therefore the coating significantly increases the protection against corrosion. The large thickness allows you to make various embossing according to the texture of the material, for example, in the form of stone, brickwork, leather, wood. With such a relief, the drawing looks more expressive. They are used in northern regions and in conditions of increased atmospheric aggressiveness.

For such a coating, manufacturers use the colors of the RAL profiled sheet:

• 8017 chocolate brown;
• 9007 gray aluminum, 9010 white;
• under a light, dark wood of a large number of shades, under a brick, stone (business class).

The layer on the surface of the Prism is an improved polyurethane coating, its thickness is 50 µm. The film contains 8 protective layers that ensure the durability of the material and color retention until the end of operation. In the surface layer there are ultraviolet traps that prevent the coating from losing brightness and color.

With such a coating, manufacturers use the main three colors of the Ral profiled sheet:

• 8019 - gray brown;
• 6004 - blue-green;
• 3005 - wine red.

The Prism film is also produced with a metallic sheen, which is not done by manufacturers of other types of coatings.

Separation of colors according to the RAL standard

The color scheme of the profiled sheet is also important, as are the technical properties of the material, for example, the thickness of the base, the height of the corrugation, the width of the wave. To bring the colors and shades to a single standard in the world, coding for profiled metal has been developed.

Products are labeled in accordance with catalogs:

1. HPS. The standard contains four digits in a four-digit number. A more precise definition of the shade is made out with an additional letter at the end of the marking. The catalog is used to select popular colors, since specific colors are not included in the register.
2. RR. The colors in the catalog are encrypted in the form of a number with two or three digits. The catalog is used in the production of corrugated sheets and the selection of the color of the material for roofing. In addition to the primary colors, many shades are included.
3. RAL. The most applicable coding, popular among manufacturers of not only profiled metal, but also other products. To determine colors and shades, four-digit numbers are used; the list contains varieties of absolutely all colors.

Coding bring products from different manufacturers to a single standard form, mandatory for everyone. This greatly simplifies the choice for buyers, suppliers, builders. This standardization is important when purchasing additional planks separately from the base material in order to accurately acquire the desired shade.

• Purple. From this range, pearl-blackberry 4012, purple violet 4007 are used.
• Blue. It symbolizes the color of water and is used in a wide range of colors. Often ordered colors are sapphire blue 5003, hyacinth blue 5010, turquoise blue 5018.
• Brown. Light shades are bought for the walls, and the roof is made darker. Brown chocolate 8017, beige brown 8024 are used.

Each manufacturer uses certain shades that are specific only to its production.For example, the Prism coating with characteristic burgundy, deep green and deep brown colors represents shades in the color of ripe cherries, dark wine, all tones of green, ultramarine, purple. The metallic sheen on the profiled sheet is not yet very common, but is rapidly gaining popularity.

Some colors are similar in appearance, but differ only in shade. For example, carmine red and ruby ​​red, which are next to each other in the catalog (3002 and 3003), look almost the same. Pearl violet and signal violet (4011 and 4008) are similar, the difference is in a slight tint variety.

Color selection
