Making SIP panels - how to do it yourself

For construction on the site of a change house or other temporary building, you can make SIP panels with your own hands. The products will retain the quality of the factory, since the technology will be followed with maximum accuracy. As a result, the cost of the house will decrease significantly, and high-quality materials will be used for manufacturing.

Material description

Combined sheets consist of particle boards on the sides and middle core made of solid heat insulator... The inner layer is glued under pressure or injected into the gap with polyurethane foam. The panels are used in the construction of low-rise buildings using frame technology.

The plates themselves SIP does not act as a load-bearing material, they fill the gaps between the struts of the loaded frame of the building. The panels are used as an insulating layer, they are installed in the construction of internal walls and partitions.

Application of SIP panels allows you to improve the characteristics of the structure:

  • lightens the weight of the walls, so they lay not a massive, but a shallow foundation;
  • increases the protection of the internal space from the cold;
  • speeds up the construction;
  • creates a solid foundation for indoor and outdoor decoration.

Ask a Question
The technology for the production of SIP panels is simple, but manufacturers include the price of equipment in the cost of products. At home, you can easily repeat the assembly process, which consists in gluing a polystyrene foam panel of the PSB-S-25 brand between the chipboard or OSB boards (C is a self-extinguishing form, the density is 25 kg / m³). The thickness of the insulation is taken from 10 to 20 cm, the parameter depends on the type of structure and climate.
