Docking drywall sheets to each other
Sealing of joints is applied for the final leveling the surface before finishing... The use of putty further strengthens the structure and makes the surface homogeneous. But you need to work with it competently, otherwise:
- cracks may appear on the finish layer after drying;
- the service life of the final coating will be reduced and repairs will soon be required;
- it will take longer to remove the coating and apply a new coat than the first time.
It is recommended to carry out repair work in this order:
- Clean the sheets from dust after installation.
- Treat all surfaces with a primer so that subsequent layers adhere well to the first.
- Prepare seams for puttying.
- Apply the first layer, attach the construction reinforcing mesh to it.
- Press the mesh against the first layer of putty with a spatula.
- Apply a second coat if necessary.
- After drying, carry out grinding - removing excess putty with sandpaper or a disc.
