Installing an adapter on a well helps to prevent freezing of an autonomous water supply without a caisson device. One small device solves several tasks at once - it saves the budget and the time of the master when arranging communication.

A downhole adapter is a small device that allows you to connect a wellbore outlet (top of the casing) to a pipeline in the ground below its freezing point. The main purpose of the device is the joint of a submersible submersible pump in the underground highway leading to the house.
Structurally, the part has two component parts connected to each other by means of a thread. Tightness here is provided by dense rubber gaskets. One part of the adapter is located inside the casing, the second is inserted into the formed technical hole of the casing. Water intake and water supply pipes are connected to the ends of the part.

The part is selected according to the following criteria:
- Diameter of the connecting pipe.It must correspond to the cross-sections of the intake pipe.
- Casing type. If you originally installed double - steel plus plastic pipes, the adapter cannot be installed.
- Manufacturing material. It is better to give preference to a steel adapter. Especially if a submersible pump is used.
- Manufacturer. The most demanded on the market are Baker, Vinkell, DebePumpur.
If the submersible pump is located below the 70 m mark, it is better not to use the adapter. Even a steel threaded connection cannot withstand such a mass.
Installation features
To install the downhole adapter, you need to prepare a trench for the pipeline. It is dug below the level of soil freezing. The bottom of the channel should be well compacted and filled with a sand cushion. Then they act in the following sequence:
- Using a perforator, a technical hole is formed at a given point of the casing for the adapter output. Do not be afraid of metal shavings getting into the water. Its amount is insignificant. The edges of the hole are well cleaned.
- The adapter is divided into two parts, all lubricant is removed.
- O-rings are carefully treated with silicone sealant.
- A water intake hose and a submersible pump are connected to the inside of the adapter.
- Using a safety cable, this part of the part, together with the injection equipment, is lowered into the casing and brought to the technical hole.
- It remains to dock the inner and outer parts of the part with the help of the crimp and O-rings and take the pipeline away from it.
Before backfilling the trench, start the equipment and check the system for leaks. If everything is working properly, you can bury the pipes, but without compaction of the soil. It is poured over time as the earth subsides.
