- Passage through a reverse osmosis membrane. The membrane barrier allows effective water purification from such contaminants as pentavalent arsenic, barium, cadmium, selenium, radium 226/228, chromium, lead, nitrates and nitrites.
- Fine cleaning with ion-carbon filter. At this stage, extraneous odors, residual chlorine and volatile organic substances are removed, since they could remain after the first stages of purification. All this has a positive effect on the taste of water.
- Application of a hygienic filter. It contains silver, which prevents the multiplication of microorganisms in the liquid after undergoing purification.
- Using a coconut filter to improve the taste of the water.
After such water treatment, the liquid becomes practically distilled. It is clean, pleasant to the taste, but for the good of the body, it needs to go through a mineralizer. This is a special cartridge filled with a complex filler with mineral salts and useful components, which is used to restore the high-quality composition of the liquid.
The mineralizer filler also contains calcium, which is required by the human body for the normal functioning of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, magnesium - to prevent cancer, sclerosis and the appearance of kidney stones.
The mineralizer is the last stage through which the liquid passes before consumption. It also corrects the pH level of the water to human standards.
Zepter water filters supply a sufficient volume of purified water: from 70 to 370 liters per day. The devices consume little electricity - about 0.77 W, and are also supported by computer control. Models differ in the number of functions. The more, the more expensive the device, and the better it copes with removing contamination.
Installation and maintenance features
Cleaning devices differ in the place of installation - they can be installed under the sink or placed on the countertop.They supply clean water directly to the tap.
Zepter equipment requires periodic replacement of filter cartridges. The frequency of installation of replacement elements is determined depending on the amount of contaminants contained in the incoming fluid and the filtration volume. Parts are usually replaced every six months. You will need to purchase not only new cartridges, but also a key to remove the flasks.
How to replace elements correctly:
- Prepare - turn off the water supply, close the tap of the storage tank and release the pressure in the network by opening the tap on the sink.
- Disconnect the supply hoses from the housing, position the filter in a convenient position, remove the side panels.
- Remove the flask of the first cleaning stage. It is easy enough to unscrew it using a wrench of the appropriate size.
- Remove the clogged cartridge from the flask for subsequent disposal. Wash the inside of the flask with warm water with citric acid or vinegar.
- Remove the new cartridge from the packaging, place it in the flask and reinstall the body in its original place without using a wrench.
This allows you to maintain the integrity of the plastic and joints.
Before putting the body in place, you need to check the presence and condition of the O-ring that protects the body connection from leaks. Kinking or wear is not permitted.
Further, the remaining two stages are changed in a similar way. To prevent particles of the carbon cartridge from entering the system, it must be flushed before installation.
The membrane must also be replaced about every three years. It is installed in the body with O-rings inward, until it stops. Then, the already used diaphragm is removed from the network together with the housing, before that, disconnecting the supply hoses from it. Connecting fitting elements from the old part are connected to the new one. After that, you should install the element in the system, connect the hoses in the same way as on the old case.
If the lid does not close, you can remove the retaining clip. Removing the fasteners does not affect the productivity of the filter and makes it possible to compensate for the difference in overall dimensions.
Advantages and disadvantages
